2023 PA Arts Advocacy Day

REGISTER NOW!
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26, 2023

Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania is happy to see that new Governor, Josh Shapiro, has introduced a 2023-24 fiscal budget that includes an increase to the Grants to the Arts line item for the first time since the 2015-16 budget.

While we are excited about this positive movement, we recognize that this may not be enough for arts organizations across the commonwealth trying to keep up with the rising cost of inflation and expenses of operating post-pandemic.

Please help us do our best advocacy by joining us in Harrisburg on Wednesday, April 26th for Arts Advocacy Day.

Details on the events of the day will be released soon, but you can register to participate NOW!

You can check out the Pennsylvania State budget online at: Commonwealth Budget (pa.gov)

Schedule of events (tentative)Wednesday, April 19, 2023 - Advocacy Webinar
  • We will be hosting an advocacy webinar to share our goals for this year and answer any questions you might have about advocating for the arts locally, at the state level, or even nationally!
  • If you register to attend in-person and elect to participate in legislative visits at the capitol, we will extend the meeting to discuss the schedule of events, take a deeper look into how to advocate in-person, and answer any specific questions you may have. We want you to feel as comfortable and prepared as possible!
Wednesday, April 26, 2023 - ARTS ADVOCACY DAY!
  • 8:00am-9:30am - Arts Advocacy Day will officially take over the Main Rotunda!
    • This will include a live jazz band performing, legislative networking, and a press conference
  • 9:30am-4:00pm - Legislative meetings
  • 11:30am-1:30pm - PA Student Seminar
