In 1979 a group of citizens established an organization which was committed to promoting and advocating for the arts in Pennsylvania. That organization became Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania, the only statewide multidisciplinary arts organization committed to advancing the arts in Pennsylvania through advocacy, programs, and services.

Harrisburg, PA (June 26, 2009) Governor Edward G. Rendell announced his revised recommendations for the FY 09-10 budget.  The revised numbers include $14 million for arts grants through the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) but reduced the PCA administrative line item by 12.1% over his February 2009 recommendation.
